The Cyber Defense Lab (CDL) holds biweekly research meetings Fridays 11am-12:15pm in ITE 228. For each meeting, one CDL member presents his or her ongoing research, for feedback from the group. Anyone is welcome to attend. Following the meeting, the group enjoys a simple lunch at the Skylight Room on the 3rd floor of the Commons.

  • 2014.04.30 Congratulations to Nathan Price on a successful defense of his Master's thesis Improving Boot-time Entropy with Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs): Enhancing Random Number Generation with Intrinsic Uniqueness in Computer Hardware.
  • 2014.01.01 In the Spring 2014 semester, Dr. Alan Sherman will be teaching a special Cybersecurity research seminar course at the undergradate and graduate levels (CMSC 491/691). This is an inter-institution distance learning course where students are expected to conduct research on hard problems under the guidance of mentors from the National Security Agency (NSA), Assured Information Security, Inc. (AIS), and the Random-Sample Elections Research Board. This course is funded under the INSuRE EAGER grant sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
